About the Episode
Today’s guests talks about how he used Twitter to build up a list of 600 people that he could ask questions about the features in his app. He reveals his strategy for phrasing questions in a way that yields the most valuable answers. Also, listen to the end of the show where he shares the best business advice he’s ever received.
Phrasing Questions to Yield the Most Valuable Answers
Matthew shares that what worked for them is having the discipline around asking questions consistently. They would always start with basic questions and, for the purpose of getting an idea that would work, would do away with vague questions which are difficult to decipher. Being organized is also essential. When asking their questions, they would also consider realistic options and structure it in a way which would yield the most answers.
The Best Business Advice He’s Ever Received
He met a notable venture capitalist in New York who gave him the advice to stop worrying about people stealing his idea and start worrying about people liking his idea. He found this approach to be really good and went from hiding away his ideas to putting it out there.
